WHERE do we WEAR?
While we wear everywhere, we meet at two locations the first Thursday of each month:
Central-Clemson Library from 10am-noonish: We gather in the meeting room just past the restrooms. Drop by anytime; the Clemson group is very informal.
Greenville Main Library (Hughes) from 6pm-8:30pm: Past the coffee shop, you’ll see meeting rooms to the left behind the giant globe. A posted sign directs you to our assigned meeting room.
What are Meetings Like? Good question. Sometimes, we have lots of new wearers who have come for specific help so we spend most of the meeting with hands-on instruction. Sometimes, we have veteran wearers who need some play time so we’ll let the tots run around and swap parenting stories. Children are always welcome. Daddies are welcome. Pregnant moms are welcome. We understand naps and busy schedules so if you’re an hour late or need to leave an hour early–that is ok! Our groups are typically loud and informal. You’ll see nursing moms and wild toddlers. What you will not find is judgement about parenting choices–that is absolutely banned from our meetings.
Who leads the meetings? Well, the group leads the meetings. Carey and Julie schedule the meetings and lend support to the group. Carey is mom to Tallulah and Clementine and works as a licensed midwife apprentice. Julie is mom to Norah, due with another in August, and works as a doula.
Can I buy or sell carriers? You may post your gently used carriers to our yahoo group for best results or ask if anyone in the group might been interesting in sewing or selling a carrier you need. There are no retail sales from members of the group.
